In the Evening, Neatly

Figure 1. Video still.
Hi Poetry Friends. A few months ago, I had a poem published in Better Magazine called "In the Evening, Neatly." It's about walking on the street, staying somewhere, and being better. Better Magazine is really cool. Along with the text of the poem, you can see a video of me reading the poem while wearing a sparkly hat (Figure 1), and you can listen to an mp3 of me reading the poem while wearing pajamas. And there are lots of other poets on there, not just me. That's the best part about Better Magazine. Please take a look.

Side note--I was just taking a look at some of the publication links in the side bar. Lots of small press and journal sites (like Octopus Magazine) seem to be down. If you want to read any of my poems, there are a bunch available for free online. Your best bets are Better Mag, "I Feel Like Seeing the Moon" in Everyday Genius, 5 poems on The Poetry Project site, a video of this blog's namesake poem "Human is Animal, Animal is Back" in Rabbit Light Movies, "Get You" and "Screen on the World Side" at The Cultural Society, "Ephemera" in Typo Magazine, and a goldmine, Duration Press's free PDF of Get You, a bunch of poems later published in my full-length book.

American Poet

"Get Inner, Get You":  Norma Cole writes about my work in American Poet Magazine's Emerging Poet Series, Fall 2010, Volume 39.   It's made out of paper.  Really cool.  Issue also includes Cornelius Eady on Camille Rankine and Campbell McGrath on Jason Myers.  Plus other great people on other great stuff.
